Hilda van Stockum, the award-winning children’s author and illustrator whose books depicted the true adventures of childhood and family life, died on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at her home in Berkhamsted, England. She was 98.
This picture is of Hilda with the original "Mitchells", her six children who gave her the inspiration for the Mitchell series.
